Carrie Penman will moderate a panel discussion on the importance of hotline reporting data as a board-level business performance metric; panelists will be Ryder System’s Pilar Caballero and Professor Kyle Welch of George Washington University

PORTLAND, Ore., May 16, 2019 – Leading ethics and compliance software and services company NAVEX Global® is pleased to announce that Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President Carrie Penman will present new ways to quantify the business value of internal hotline reporting systems on May 20, 2019, at Compliance Week 2019. Penman will be joined by Pilar Caballero, Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Ryder Systems, and Kyle Welch from George Washington University’s School of Business.

Compliance Week 2019 is recognized as one of the year’s important annual conferences for compliance professionals, bringing together the top minds in the industry from around the globe. “It is a privilege to host a panel at Compliance Week 2019,” said Penman. “I am especially pleased to be joined by Ms. Caballero and Professor Welch to discuss the importance of internal reporting data as a board-level metric and measure of workplace culture health.”

The session, titled “Strength in Numbers: Hotline Is the C-Suite and Board’s Strongest Tool,” will be informed by research from George Washington University – using incident report data managed by NAVEX Global – showing an association between increased internal reporting and positive business results. “The data clearly shows that when employees use the report line more, workplace productivity actually goes up, and legal exposure goes down,” said Penman. “We now have empirical, independent evidence that proves the value of hotline usage.”

Compliance Week 2019 will take place May 19-22 in Washington, D.C. For more information about the event and individual sessions, please click  here.
