WhistleB supports the
requirements of Germany’s Whistleblower Protection Act, the Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz (HinSchG), with secure reporting channels, anonymous reporting options, controlled case access and structured records of report activity.
In force since July 2023, the HinSchG requires organizations with 50 or more employees to establish an internal reporting channel. Reports must be acknowledged within seven days, followed up by impartial, designated staff, and the whistleblower must receive feedback within three months of acknowledgement. The identity of the reporting person must be kept confidential, reports must be documented, and reporting must be possible orally as well as in writing, with an in-person meeting available on request.
WhistleB supports oral reporting through IVR and live telephony, available as add-ons to all subscription plans. Whistleblowers can request a meeting through the secure dialogue function, and reports received by phone or in person can be added to the case record, keeping every report documented in one system. Anonymous reporting goes beyond the law’s minimum, as the HinSchG recommends but does not require it. WhistleB gives case managers visibility into acknowledgement and follow-up activity, helping teams keep the seven-day acknowledgement and three-month feedback deadlines in view.
